Antoinette Fighera

Antoinette Fighera of Elmont, passed away peacefully on January 6th at 3:30 am. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Fighera; loving mother to Frank (Trish), Ted (Mary Anne), Joseph (Christine), Maria (Gena) and John (Tammy). Cherished Grandmother of Jennifer, Melissa, Beau, Beth, Suzi, Joseph, Lisa, Samantha, Isabelle, and Giovanni; Great Grandmother to Ashley, Alyssa, Frances, Grace, Gina, Alexandra, Bailey and Julianna, and beloved sister to Irene Angelastro, Mary Bennett, and the late Nicholas Macario (Rosemarie). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and her long time caregiver Claudet.

There is no way to be sad about our mother’s passing. She died as the faithful of all who were proclaimed to come home to meet Him. The crowning of the Christmas pilgrimage is the day that she begins her journey to Him as they depart this world friends. There is no truer life to be lived than one spent loving others, great and small, as if they were your intimate friend because they are dear to Him. I know that our mother Nettie, taught us all that message, and for that we will be forever grateful.
