Maurice C. "Chris" Behan of Malverne, NY died August 16, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY after a brief battle with bone marrow cancer. Born in the Bronx on December 25, 1944, Chris truly lived a life of service. A Sergeant in the US Marine Corp from 1965-1968, he served in Vietnam and went on to spend 30 years as a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in New York City and as a first responder at the World Trade Center on 9-11. A graduate of St. John's University, Chris had a great sense of humor. He loved music, travel, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Kathy, his daughter Colleen Behan and her husband Bill Morgan, his daughter Kelly Behan and her husband Scott Hickam, his daughter Kathleen Holden and her husband Larry Holden, his daughter Tara Pearse and her husband Brian Pearse and his six grandchildren Liam, William, Matthew, Maryn, Colin, and Kathleen. Chris was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Marie Behan and his sister Leona Behan. Chris was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend and he will be greatly missed by all.
