Claire Sallie

Claire Lois Sallie, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.  She was born to the late Thomas Sallie, Jr. and Blanche Callahan Sallie on December 28, 1942.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas III.  She is survived by her devoted sister Patricia and her loving brother Edward Sr. and sister-in-law Judith.  Claire will be especially missed by her nieces Deborah (Daniel); Diane (David); and Lisa (Angie); by her nephew Edward Jr. (Linda); and by her many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Claire lived in Malverne, New York all of her life and served as Village Clerk Treasurer for many years before she retired in 2003.  She enjoyed spending time at her country home in Windham, New York.  Claire was an avid reader, a wonderful cook and enjoyed dining out and spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation is on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm at Flinch & Bruns Funeral Home in Lynbrook.  The funeral service is Saturday November 10th at 9:45am at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Malverne.  Interment will immediately follow the service at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury. Claire’s memory will always be in the hearts of her family.
