Jack C Graffagnino

Jack Graffagnino, 84 years old, passed peacefully on December 20, 2018.

Born on November 11, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, he grew up in Richmond Hill, Queens, attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help and John Adams High School, where he starred for the basketball team.  He attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, which grew and fostered his love of art.  He was a resident of Lynbrook for 48 years, and was involved in the community through his many activities with the Lynbrook Little League, Lynbrook Rec Basketball Program, the Lynbrook Mom and Dad’s Club, and the Broadway Men’s Golf Club.

He was a devoted son to Joseph and Josephine, and a loving and protective older brother to Matt, Roseann and Joseph.  Married to his devoted and loving wife Janice for 57 years, he was a loving father to Mark, David and Jill, loving father-in-law to Lisa, Mary and Frank, and fun-loving “Popie” to grandchildren Jack, Rachel, Jack Ryan, Brooke, Leah and Jess.  He was a loving Uncle Jack to his many nieces and nephews and known as Mr. Graff or Coach Graff to so many who came through the Lynbrook sports programs.

In addition to his love of family, he had a love of art, and painted and sketched for his family and friends, from an early age right up until his final days.  He enjoyed playing and watching most sports, but golf became his passion later in life.  After retiring from a successful career in sales as a manufacturer’s representative, he followed that passion to work at Bethpage Golf Course for many years. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to either the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to Monter Cancer Center in New Hyde Park, NY.
