Marion J. Galla of Rockville Centre died January 10th, 2020 at the age of 84, surrounded by her
beloved children.
Marion was born March 2, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York. After marrying James Galla, the couple
moved to Lynbrook, New York to raise their four children. Marion was an active member of the
community and her parish of many years, Our Lady of Peace. Marion was known to all who
had the pleasure to come into her life as the greatest friend, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother
a person could ask for. Marion’s passion for life and especially for the people in it
was unmatched. She was life of the party, lighting up every room she walked into with her
infectious sense of humor. Marion often spoke of her great love for her friends who helped her
through difficult times and were like family to her.
Marion is survived by her children James, Robert, Laura, Geralyn and Paul, her grandchildren
Lauren, Julianne, Elizabeth, Andrew and James, and her great-grandchildren Lila and Anthony.
She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Marion’s family will be receiving visitors Monday, January 13th, 7 PM to 9 PM and Tuesday,
January 14th, 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM at Flinch & Burns Funeral Home at 34
Hempstead Ave., Lynbrook NY. Funeral services will be held at St. Agnes Cathedral in
Rockville Centre Wednesday, January 15th at 10 AM.
In celebration of Marion’s life, memorial donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation.
