Rosemarie Gallopini, 85, of Copiague passed away on May 8, 2019 after
suffering a massive stroke. Her children and several of her
grandchildren were by her side just before her passing. Rosemarie was
born and raised in Lynbrook to Fanny and Joseph Carlo and had one sister
Patricia deceased (Alan) Fernez. She attended Malvern High School where
she met the love of her life Albert Gallopini Jr. who passed in 2001.
Together Roe and Al raised five children, Cecilia (Frank) Troici, Joseph
(Ellen) Gallopini, Carol (Bruce) Phillips, Robert (Pamela) Gallopini,
and Lisa Rose. She is also survived by an impressive group of eleven
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with an eighth on the way
this summer. She was a wonderful cook and nothing brought her more joy
than the noise around a table filled with her spaghetti, meatballs, home
baked bread, and her signature antipasto. Rosemarie was an avid
collector of antiques and spent many years buying and selling antiques
in the family business, Gallopini Jewelers of Lynbrook. She was also a
talented gardener and loved caring for her garden, houseplants and
flowers. She enjoyed league bowling, playing cards with friends, and
occasional trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Rosemarie was a devout
Catholic, who spent many years attending Holy Name of Mary parish in
Valley Stream and in recent years Saint Rose of Lima in Massapequa
