Walter John Swansig Sr.

On January 11, 2020, Walter Swansig Sr. (Wally) of Valley Stream, New York, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Margaret for just over 50 years, beloved father of Walter and Steven, dear father-in-law of Lisa, devoted Poppy to Jack and Katie, cherished brother-in-law of Elaine and Tony, Joan, Nancy and Rob. Beloved uncle to Alaina, Christina, Maria, Annette, Timothy, Shawna, Kevin, Joanna and Christian. Dear friend/brother to George Raab and his wife Anne.

Walter graduated from Don Bosco High School in  1961 and continued his education at Siena College, graduating in 1965, at which time he served for two years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. He began his career as a successful businessman and never forgot his fellow man who were less fortunate.

He was well loved by all who knew him.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020 at St. Anthony's Church at 9:45 AM.
