Alycemarye Gardner Obituary

Alycemarye Virginia (nèe Carey) Gardner passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2021 at her home in Malverne, New York. 

Born to Elinor (nèe Kerin) Carey and Charles Carey on October 14th, 1934. Alycemarye grew up in Brooklyn where she attended Our Lady of Angels grammar school, Bishop McDonald High School and Kings County Nursing School. 

 Loving wife of sixty-five years to Charles, they were married at Our Lady of Angels Church in 1956. They made Malverne their home in 1961 where they raised their family. Alycemarye was active in the community, participating in many clubs and events throughout the years, with some of her most cherished memories coming from her involvement in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. As an RN, she was employed for over fifteen years by the Valley Stream School District.

 Devoted mother of Nancy (Bill) Deignan, Barbara (Tom) Fay, Eileen (Joe) Loiodice, Pat (Evan) Kaplan, Charlie (Georgann) Gardner, Ginny (Dave) Ferris, Mark (Sandi) Gardner and Bridget (Randy) McDonald. Adored grandmother of Thomas (Ally) Fay, Christopher Fay, Courtney (Amanda) Gardner-Shea, Joe Loiodice, Kerrie Ann Deignan, Stephen (Hailey) Fay, Kelsey (Mike) Frasca, Billy Deignan, Elizabeth (Patrick) Dorsey, Alexandra Loiodice, Ashley Kaplan, Charlie Gardner, Daniel Fay, Kerin Nussbaum, Nicholas Loiodice, Tyler Nussbaum, Paige Kaplan, Brooke Kaplan, Stephanie Kaplan, Riley Gardner, Lily Gardner, Summer Gardner, Meghan McDonald, Ryan McDonald, Keira McDonald and Declan McDonald.

Doting Great-Grandmother to Harlow Gardner-Shea and Anthony Frasca. 

 In addition to her parents, Alycemarye was predeceased by her brother Charles Carey. She is survived by her dedicated younger brother Kevin, his wife Diana, sister-in-law MaryJane Carey, numerous nieces and nephews, and long-time friends and neighbors. 

 In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. 

 

 

Beginning Wednesday, May 19, 2021, visitor capacity restrictions will be eliminated. We will continue to require of visitors the recommended social distancing of 6 feet.
