Angie was born March 15, 1919 to Filomena and Biaggio Amelio. Her mother immigrated to Ellis Island in 1895 at the age of 19 (not 21 as she claimed).
She married Anthony Arote in 1941. Her first child was born in 1943 followed by two more children. While raising her three children in Queens, she cared for her aging mother until she died.
She herself was widowed at 62 and lived on her own until October 2019.
She traveled to Italy with friends and liked going to Atlantic City. Always a walker, she walked two miles to Church in Queens Village on Sundays and took public transportation everywhere.
She kept scrupupous hand written notes and never forgot any special occasions for the family and friends always sending cards. She never missed their important occasions.
