Barbara Lapp

Barbara Kniffin Lapp passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 17, 2022 at home 2 days before her 104th birthday. She was the beloved mother of Chip, Peter, Barb and the late Howard S Kniffin III. Loving grandmother of Sabrina, Jeremy, Dan, Alex, Kasey, Nicole, Katie, Kyle and proud great-grandmother of 7. Barbara was born in upstate NY, and raised in the Berkshires of Massachusetts with one sister and two brothers. She attended Western College '39. She was a World War II veteran, serving our country as a Naval Officer from 1943-46 where she met her loving husband Howard S Kniffin Jr., who passed away in 1980. She remarried in 1987 and was the devoted wife of Judge Charles Lapp, Jr. and loved his 10 children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as her own. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her loving kindness, gentle ways, devotion, and philanthropy. Graveside services will be private. A memorial service and celebration of life will be planned for the summer of 2022.
