Carmel J. Pastore was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She left this world peacefully in her sleep on October 28th at the age of 87.
She was born to Sebastian and Catherine Mecca on January 1, 1936 in Rye, NY. That year, she was the “New Year’s” baby at the local hospital.
After graduating Bishop McDonald high school in Brooklyn, she began working at the Musician’s Union and later was the corporate secretary for Computer Usage in Mt. Kisco. During this time, she attended night school and after 13 years of study, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Hunter College.
In 1962, she met Raymond, a friend of her brother, Joe. The friendship developed and on March 31, 1968, Carmel and Raymond were married. Together, they had two children, Raymond and Lisa.
Carmel was the officer manager for Raymond J. Pastore MD,P.C. for over fifty years. She loved spending summers in Centerport with her family, making home made pasta with her husband, Raymond, and visits from her children and grandchildren.
