Carol A Hurley, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16 at St. Frances Heart Hospital. Carol firmly believed her final destination was home with her Lord. She is now there, and we find comfort in knowing she is happy. Carol was born in Brooklyn, NY to Agnes Curran-Cason & James B Cason. She was the middle child between Thomas J Cason and Judith Cason-Keane. As a child Carol always liked to test her boundaries. She was an independent and caring individual, with a strong emphasis on benefaction. Smart and outgoing, Carol never seized to stop moving forward but always stopped when asked to listen, give advice, drive, shop or just share a cup of coffee. Especially the breakfast club at Venius.
Carol married Robert E Hurley in the winter of 1960 and worked as a full-time housewife to her 6 children. Through the years her family grew to include 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Carol was adored by all who knew her including her daughters/sons-in-laws, her beloved nieces/nephews, best-friends, neighbors, church associates and so many more.
Carol was an avid Golfer, Tennis player, Mahjong player and Bunko player. However, you would most likely run across Carol at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Among other things she was a member of the Rosery Alter Society, Church Alter Service, CCD Instructor, Women’s Club and Thrift Shop Curator.
Following Carol’s wishes the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service next Saturday. Information is detailed below.
