Daniel J. Morgan Sr.

Daniel J. Morgan, Sr. of Franklin Square, New York, passed away on October 7, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born on September 28, 1944, in Bronx, NY.  Daniel, known as Dan or “Lefty” to his loved ones and friends, was a strong and resilient individual. He had a stubborn yet humorous personality, leaving behind cherished memories for his family and friends.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Ann Morgan (nee Gburczyk), his three children, Daniel J. Morgan, Jr. (Eileen), Kevin Morgan (Laura), and Deborah Rung (Kenneth), his thirteen grandchildren: Patrick, Daniel, Christian, Kiernan, Shannon, Blayne, Julianne, Victoria, Hayley, Aidan, Emily, Kaitlyn and Shelby, his brother John (“Mickey”) Morgan and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret McAllister, his father, Floyd Morgan, and his twin brother, James (“Chink”) Morgan.

Daniel attended Grover Cleveland High School, Class of 63, before embarking on his career. He worked as a former driver for United Parcel Service and as a Trackman at the MTA/LIRR in Jamaica, New York. Outside of work, Daniel found joy in planting his garden and nurturing his flowers. The Spring and Summer seasons were always highlighted by his green thumb.

Visitation will be held at Flinch and Bruns Funeral Home on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, located at 65 Wright Avenue, Malverne, NY 11565. Interment will follow at Greenfield Cemetery, Nassau Avenue, Uniondale, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Daniel's name.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Flinch and Bruns, located in Lynbrook, NY.
