Obituary
THOMSON - David B., of Franklin Square went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2023.
Beloved and devoted husband of Joyanne. David is also survived by his sisters-in-law,
brothers-in-law, and his 31 nieces and nephews. David was a math teacher in the Valley Stream
School district for 36 years and served as chairman for many of those years. When he turned 60
he joined the Long Island Senior Softball League and played for 23 years. He was a member of
the team that won a national championship in 2001. For many years he sang in choirs
especially loving the traditional hymns. David cared deeply for his family and will be sorely
missed. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith”
2 Timothy 4:7. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s name
to a charity of your choice.
