Dorothy Estelle Kress Domanski was born on February 9, 1922. She was the youngest of the Kress children of Jamaica Bay, NY. She grew up riding her horse, Nifty and annoying her older brother Lou while sailing his boat out of the canals of Jamaica Bay. She married Edward in October of 1945 after he returned from World War II. She raised Joseph and Jeffrey in Lynbrook, NY while working in receiving for A & S Stores of Hempstead. She was a devoted grandmother to Nicole and was there whenever she was needed. She donated her time and worked diligently for the LIAAC Foundation on Long Island. She regularly visited hospitals helping to uplift the patients with AIDS. She was devoted to making panels for the AIDS Quilt for many families that were unable to sew for themselves. She outlived her husband and both of her sons. She led a long full life and will be missed by those of us that she has left behind.
