Eugene Brillantino

January 26, 1926 - August 1, 2019

Eugenio (Eugene) Brillantino, the son of Salvatore and Rosina, emigrated to the Bronx from Calabria, Italy in 1955. In that year, he married the love of his life, Giovannina Marino, also from Calabria, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in the Bronx. After having six children, Dad and Mama moved from Arthur Avenue to Lynbrook where dad continued his profession as a tailor/fitter of mens' suits. Everyone who came in contact with Daddy loved him immediately. He was the most loving, kind, gentle, funny, faith-filled, selfless man: a beautiful soul. He touched so many lives in so many ways. When our dear mother passed away in 2010, Dad continued nurturing his relationships with his children and his 8 grandchildren, who all adored him. The Brillantino, Carter, and Demirakos families have been truly blessed to have such a special patriarch in our lives for all these years. Heaven has truly gained a saint.
