Fay Ryf

Her journey began on July 23. 1928.  Daughter of the late Alfred and Betty Epstein.  Sister of the late Jay Epstein and Elaine Epstein.  Wife of the late Albert Ryf.  Incredible mother to 2 children: Albert Ryf (Claudia Milano Ryf) and Ellen Ryf Bodurian (Daniel Bodurian).  Loving Grandmother “Mimi” to 4 wonderful grandchildren: Nicole Ryf, Jackie Ryf, Devin Bodurian and Austin Bodurian.   She always told her Grandchildren “I love You more than you love me” and they always responded back with “NO, I love YOU more than you love me”.  It became the topic of discussion each time her Grandchildren were with her.
She worked at the Lynbrook Police Department as a Crossing Guard and truly loved her job. She was very involved with the PTA, bake sales, and Girl Scouts.  
Her journey was not an easy one.  She was diagnosed with cancer of her voice box almost 4 years ago.  At that time, she had to have her voice box removed and lost the ability to speak.  Everyone adjusted quickly to reading her lips.  Not once did she ever complain about her situation.   She always had a smile on her face and was full of life and laughter.   She would light up the room when she walked into it.  Fay was known for her positive personality.
She will be missed by all.  She was a perfect mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
After many years of battling illness, she passed away peacefully and gracefully on March 17, 2021 at the age of 92.
There are some that bring a light so great into the world.  Even after they have gone, that light remains forever.  That light is our beloved, Fay Ryf.  We all love you and will miss you beyond words.  Thank you for showing us what perfection is.  You have been perfection.
