George T. Glier

George Glier passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, NY on March 9th after a courageous battle with cancer.George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. George married the love of his life  Margaret Glier (Maggie) on October 11th, 1985. The couple went on to have two sons Christopher (34) on March 19th, 1988 and Patrick on September 26th, 1991 (31). Christopher married Nicole Glier and the couple went on to have two grandchildren that George adored Mia (5) and Hailey (1). Patrick,  his younger son, married Erin Glier and has been happily married for about 2 years. George loved spending time with his family most.  George's parents George and Doris are both deceased, as is his sister Cathy. Lastly, George enjoyed spending time with his extended family, Maggie's sisters : Maura, Eileen, Kathy and Patty. He treated them as his own sisters, as they treated him as a brother, not just a brother inlaw.  He had multiple careers working as a technical director in the television industry (mainly sports) for about 20 years. George then went on to another 20 year career in automobile sales where he worked locally. He cared most about spending time with his family and his close friends. George was a curious man, he wanted to know every detail about the people he came in contact with. Most importantly he wanted to know how he could help anyone in need, as he deeply valued friendship and family. George enjoyed listening to music immensely and music continued to sound even at the final moments of George's death. One of George's favorite things to do was spend time at the beach with his family in the summer.

Although George had a tough battle with cancer, he fought valiantly until his last day. George enjoyed going to his chemotherapy treatments, because he loved the staff that worked at Mercy and they loved him and treated him so well.
