It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helen Simmons of Woodstock, Georgia on October 29, 2021.
Our mother, Helen, was a strong and loving woman who was always helping and caring for others. We are honored to have been able to call her Mom.
Helen was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 19, 1930.
She married her sweetheart, George Simmons on February 19, 1949 and spent many of their years bringing up their six children in Lynbrook, New York.
Helen lost her husband George in July of 1988. Living with her loss, Helen remained the staple of her family, always putting them first along with her faith in God and her church.
In 2007, Helen moved to Woodstock, Georgia to live with her younger children and grandchildren.
Helen was predeceased by her loving parents, Charles and Helen, her devoted husband, George and her granddaughters Lisa and Pamela. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth, and her six children, George, Paul, John, Elizabeth, Kenneth, and Amy. Helen was called grandma by her thirteen grandchildren and was a great grandma to eleven wonderful children, with another on the way.
Helen was 91 years old when she passed peacefully in her home with her family by her side.
We are all blessed to have had Helen be a pillar of our family and all our lives. We will continue to be blessed by her memory.
