Jesse Combs Jr. – May 10, 1932 – January 3, 2023
Jesse was born a twin on May 10, 1932 in Inwood, NY to Dorothy (Shearer) and Jesse P. Combs. The Combs family roots were in Inwood, NY where Jesse grew up and became well known throughout the "five towns”. He was a 1950 graduate of Lawrence High School, where he was captain of the varsity football team. Following his graduation, Jesse entered the US Air Force and was stationed in Colorado and Alaska. In 1954 he married his high school sweetheart Marie DeMilia, and together they raised four daughters in Lynbrook, NY. Jesse will be remembered as a family man—a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a great respect for all animals. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and running. Jesse had a great talent for the art of bird carving and displayed them all in his home. In his later years he could be found working diligently in his yard every day, and taking care of his much-loved cats, Shadow and Minnie. Jesse is survived by his daughters, Donna Combs, Debora (Alan) McDougall, Doreen(Lori Palmer) Combs and Denise (Carl) Kasulke. Seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, Alanna,
Frank, Gabrielle, Luke and Jesse. He is also survived by two sisters, Frances Sellitto and Carol Martinez and his life-long "partner in crime", his twin and best friend, Charles Combs. He is also survived by many loving nieces & nephews.
