A wonderful son, nephew, husband, father and grandfather. Born in Park Slope Brooklyn the only child of Ellen Kearney nee Curtin and John C. Kearney. Orphaned by the age of 12 and raised by his Aunt Bridie and Uncle Bill. Graduate of Notre Dame’s Finest, class of 1944. WW II veteran served in the Philippines. Graduate of Columbia Law School.
Married June 6th 1962. Survived by his wife, Noreen and their three children, Ellen, John & Siobhan, their spouses, Donald and Bobby and seven grandchildren, Eileen, Brian, Aine, Olivia, Noreen, Hannah and Catriona.
Career as a Workers Compensation (WC) attorney. Retired as a WC Law Judge in 2017 only weeks before his 94th birthday.
Loved all things Irish, especially his wife, music, dancing, whiskey and last but not least his 2nd home in Donegal, Ireland. He was a gentle giant with a great wit and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and will be missed by anyone who knew him. His family hopes that he is dancing with all his friends and family in heaven now.
