Kathleen sent this to her family every Sunday for the last two years:
This is your Sunday
evening reminder
that you can handle
whatever this week
throws at you.
Kathleen M. Ryan (nee Moriarty), of Lynbrook, New York, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Devoted wife, and best friend of Robert. Cherished mother of Peter, and his wife Theresa, as well as doting “Nana Kathy” to their children Emma and William. Likewise, adoring mother of Timothy and his wife Melissa. Loving Daughter of Patricia and the Late Thomas M. Moriarty, Sr. Amazing sister of Reverend Thomas M. Moriarty, Jr., and Eileen and her husband Jerome Silecchia. Dedicated aunt to their children, Thomas and Isabelle. Sister in Law to James Ryan, and Patricia Tamashiro, as well as aunt to her children Ryan, Kaitlin and Kevin.
Kathleen will always be remembered for devotion to family and friends. If you were in need of something, and she could help, she would go over and above to be of assistance. Her “take charge” attitude would open doors that ordinarily would never open. If she said she would do something, she did it to the best of her ability. In the same way, if you promised to do something, she made sure you did it to the best of your ability.
Faith was significant in her life. She loved her God, and knew, in spite of sickness and problems, she depended upon her faith in Him. Did she have questions and doubts? Of course, we all do. She was not exempt from any of the difficulties that come with cancer diagnosis, and the horrible treatments that follow. For nine years she “fought the good fight”. Kathleen trusted in the Lord Jesus, who also knows what it is to suffer pain and disappointment.
Kathleen’s work ethic is second to none. As an executive assistant at Sterling Equities, she gained the love and respect from Partnership to the newest employee. She took the time to make sure those she assisted had the resources needed to fulfill their responsibilities. Her reputation is well known throughout the company, though she never became the center of attention, which was not her style. All during her illness, she was treated with dignity and respect by the company, especially from Saul and Iris Katz.
Family was her life. Kathleen was truly a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. The love and affection shared for 31 years with her husband Robert, and her children and grandchildren, was boundless. She would do anything to encourage and support them in life’s endeavors. As a daughter to her parents Thomas and Patricia, she was incredible. Her devotedness to them both was remarkable and inspirational. As Tom and Eileen’s sister, she was supportive of all they did. Their relationship was unique, in fact it was remarkable. Her love for her nieces and nephews was exceptional; in fact she couldn’t love them more if they were her own children.
Kathleen will be missed by so many. In her short life she was able to touch so many people. She had a huge heart, and wasn’t afraid to share the love that was in it. When she loved you…….SHE LOVED YOU! For this we should all be eternally grateful.
