On Saturday October 30, 2021, Lucy Rose Sabbarese passed away at the age of 91. Lucy was born on June 15, 1930, in Corona Queens, to Nunziato and Carmella Lamberti. Following her graduation from high school, she went to work for AT&T telephone company, where she stayed until the birth of her first child. On September 7, 1957, she was married to Vincent Americo Sabbarese. Together they had two children named Vincent and Phyllis.
Lucy enjoyed playing bingo, slot machines, lotto, and Scrabble with her husband up until his passing. She enjoyed family gatherings and weekly “luncheon club” with her sisters. She was a member of St. Nicholas of Tolentine parish for over 60 years and attended mass there weekly until she was no longer physical able to. She loved going to the movies and dining out afterwards or coffee shops with her daughter following her husband’s passing.
Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband Vincent, her sisters Martha, Yolonda, Anna, and Rose, her brothers Carmine, Alfred, Frankie, Johnnie, and Anthony, plus several in-laws. She is survived by her two children Vincent and Phyllis, her sisters Katherine, Gloria and her husband Tony, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
