Martha Chinnici Obituary

Martha M. Chinnici, recently of Roscoe and Levittown, formerly of Valley Stream,  passed away in the early morning of September 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving children.  She was 91 years old.

Preceded in death by her sister, Lillian and brother, Frank.  Beloved wife of the late Mario D. Chinnici.  Survived by her loving and doting children -- Michael (Ellen), Susan (John), Joe (Cyndie), Jennifer (Vin). Cherished grandmother of Maribeth, Alex, Joanna, Jonathan, Andrew, Bianca, Daniel, Devin, Max, Noelle; great-grandmother of Ella and Rocco; Survived by her sister Emelia and wonderful Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Martha D’Agosto was born on December 2, 1930 to Giuseppe and Filomena D’Agosto.  She was raised in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. She was the youngest of four children. On September 17, 1955, she was married to Mario D. Chinnici, who she was introduced to on a blind date by her sister and brother in-law.  They eventually moved to Valley Stream and raised a family.

She cherished her role as housewife and stay at home mom.  Her family came before everything.  She loved to take care of everyone, and she loved to cook for everyone.  She exemplified everything it was to be the best wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend; always showing patience, kindness, and unconditional love.  In return, it was so easy to reciprocate that to her and take care of her in her final years.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated in Martha’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA).  AFA’s mission is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia’s nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.
