Michael R. Banks

Mike passed peacefully at home with his loving parents by his side following a ten-year long struggle with two brain tumors. He fought his illness with grace, bravery and a sense of humor. Mike was a proud member of Pride For Youth in Bellmore, a dedicated former employee and volunteer of Little Shelter in Huntington and a passionate fan of the bands Borgo Pass, Almost Queen and The Misfits. Mike was a 2007 graduate of Kellenberg Memorial High School and a 2012 graduate of Five Towns College. His senior film “The Grandmother” will be featured at the Albany FilmFest in March 2020. Mike is survived by his parents Brian and Gail of Malverne, his uncle Tim and aunt Robyn of Cypress, Texas, his uncle Chris and aunt Monica of Northport, his grandmother Joan Banks of Northport and his cousins Meghan, Emma, Rory, Fiona and Katy.
