Philip Carter

Philip Carter, 64, passed away on December 19, 2020, at his home in Malverne, New York, surrounded by his loved ones. A St. John’s alumnus—and 45-year season ticket holder for SJU basketball—he went on to serve 20 years working in the NYPD, including time spent as a union delegate, before managing the SCPBA benefit fund for nearly two decades. Phil enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, whether it be on the golf course, watching sports, or at the dinner table over one of his homecooked meals. Much loved by all those who came in contact with him, Phil was an honorable man who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his brothers Peter and Thomas; children Alison, Krista, and Nicholas; two grandkids; and partner, Peg.

Respects can be paid during the visitation on Monday, December 21st, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flinch & Bruns Funeral Home in Lynbrook. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X RC Church in Plainview. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Westbury.
