Russo, Robert A – Known as Bob to many, Dad to his daughters and Pop-Pop to his grandchildren. Passed away on August 5 at St. Therese at Oxbow Lake in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota where he had lived the past three years. Born in NYC, grew up in Valley Stream and resided in Queens, Brooklyn and Lynbrook. From 1957 to 1959 was in the U.S. Army, specializing in helicopter maintenance. Afterwards, joined his father, Sal, at Russo Wood Interiors in NYC and married Carole Galioto in 1961. He eventually moved the business to Valley Stream and then Elmont. Loved cars and in his later years, became a train enthusiast.
Robert is survived by his daughter Barbara and her sons, Dan and Ben, and his daughter Jennifer, her husband Dan, and children David and Rachel. He is also survived by his sister Grace, his sister Madeleine and her husband Ray, and his brother-in-law John, along with several nieces and nephews.
His remains will be buried with his beloved wife, Carole, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on September 12.
