Roland Carron known by all as “Chick”, passed away on June 22, 2019 at the age of 82.
A native of Queens, NY, Chick was a professional printer. After working at Allied Corporation for many years he moved on to a rewarding career at FDNY’s civilian headquarters in Brooklyn.
Chick, younger brother of Alice and son of Catherine and Roland Francis Carron, married Vicki Roskowski of Astoria on August 10, 1963. Together they had four children: Edward, David, Stephen and Alison.
Chick served on the boards of numerous organizations, but was most proud of his participation and contribution with the FDNY Emerald Society.
After the passing of Vicki in 2001, he was fortunate to only spend a couple of sad lonely years until meeting the next love of his life……Anne Atwell. Marrying in 2004 allowed them to happily share 10 children and 20 grandchildren.
As a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle; family meant everything to him. He will be truly missed.
Chick’s life will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 9:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers and in the memory of Chick, donations can be made to the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation: c/o FDNY Marine Corps Association - PO Box 1014, Smithtown, NY 11787
