Ruth Jordan Obituary

Some people have many interests and hobbies like my Dad. What Mom loved and interested her most was her family and taking care of them. Her days were a happy routine of a morning Pepsi and newspaper at a local luncheonette when we were kids. She'd come home and make breakfast for Bruce and I. Mom agreed to my having ice cream for breakfast every day as long as I ate something! She would take care of the house chores, watch Days of Our Lives in the afternoon, and she was always there when we got home from school. My brother and I were treated to all hobbies, activities, clubs or sports we were interested in.

We had wonderful vacations in the summers. Mom loved to see different caverns and go to miniature golf courses. When Keryn and Ryan came along, we were all treated to Disney vacations and other exciting trips.

Mom loved going to the house on Fire Island since she was a child. She enjoyed summers there with her sister, mother, grandmother and extended family members. Then she married Dad and he loved going to the house and biking the boardwalks with her. Mom continued to ride a bike until 93 years old! Bruce and I spent springs and falls at the beach house enjoying the time together. Keryn and Ryan came along and we had the best weekends together going to the beach, having Saturday night dinners and Dad's morning pancakes. Great-grandson Connor came along and added more joy to her life in both of her homes.

Nothing made Mom more happy than her family around her. I would like to think she's reunited with Dad, her parents, sister, grandparents, and other loved relatives. We will miss her very much, but will keep her in our hearts forever until we meet again. We love you.
